Market checking held in Pampore, Lethpora

PAMPORE: Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs conducted a market checking in various places of Pampore Tehsil area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Friday.
On the directions of Assistant Director Food Pulwama Sheikh Enayat Ahmad, a market checking team of Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) led by Tehsil Supplier Officer Pampore Ayash Farooq conducted a market checking in Pampore and Lethpora area and realized a fine from various erring shopkeepers.
The inspection team checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists etc of food items and other essential commodities.
During the market checking the Vegetables/Fruits Shops were inspected and the unhygienic/rotten vegetables/fruits/expired items were destroyed and seized on the spot, Tehsil Supplier Officer Pampore Ayash Farooq told Kashmir Reader.
An amount of Rs. 3600 was realized as fine from the erring traders. Strict instructions were issued to the defaulters to maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness in their business houses besides displaying rate lists of all commodities and other necessary documents in their shops, he said.
