‘My School, My Pride’ initiative begins at GDC Pampore

PAMPORE: ‘My School, My Pride’ initiative begun on Wednesday , at Government degree College here at Saffron town Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials told Kashmir Reader that GDC Pampore has adopted Government Middle School Krenchoo, Pampore for developing its human resource and infrastructure.
They added that a total of 22 activities have been planned over the next six months to accomplish the goal.
“The programme begun after a delegation of 37 students from the school visited the college to participate in various sports events including chess, badminton, volleyball, and carrom,” officials told, adding that the students were accompanied by teachers ; Showkat Ahmad and Javid Ali.
“The students were extended a warm welcome by the acting Principal Prof Hilal Ahmad Bakshi who was flanked by other staff members including Prof Shah Lateef – Nodal Officer, My school, my Pride, Dr Shabir Hussain Lone – Co-coordinator IQAC, Prof Ashaq Rashid – Convenor Development, Dr Irfan K Shah – Convenor Exams, Mr Zaffar Manzoor – Physical Director and Dr Huzaifa Pandit – Media Secretary,” they added.
The officials told Kashmir Reader that Prof Shah Lateef started the proceedings by providing an outline of of the initiative and it’s objectives.
‘The acting Principal Prof Hilal Ahmad Bakshi delivered a formal inaugural and welcome address. He started by expressing his gratitude to the visiting students and the teachers accompanying them. His address dwelled on the importance of sports as an instrument to cultivate discipline and foster the spirit of team work. He assured the visiting students that the college is honour bound to extend every kind of help to the school, as they constitute the future of the college in particular and society in general. ,”
