Srinagar: The 63rd Pre- Research Council Meeting for Faculty of Horticulture of SKUAST- Kashmir was held on April 20, 2022 in the meeting hall of Directorate of Research Shalimar, under the chairmanship of Prof. Sarfarz A. wani, Director Research, SKUAST-Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Prof.Shabir Ahmad, Dean FOH, Shalimar and Prof A. H. Mughal, Associate Director Research. At the outset all the scientists who were present in the meeting were introduced by Dean Horticulture, andwere asked to present their agenda items of the meeting related to Faculty of Horticulture for deliberations.
Prof Sarfaraz A. Wani, Director Research emphasized Scientists to set up priorities in research, based on the feedback from the orchadists and developments departments. He also desired that the researchprogrammes of the university be conducted in co-ordination with all the research stations/KVK in multi-disciplinary mode to end up with a product or technology for upliftment of farming community and other stakeholders. He also stressed for submitting external research projects to various funding agencies to enable scientists to support quality research for the benefit of farming community. During daylong discussion a number of research projects were deliberated upon threadbare. All the Heads of Divisions presented and deliberated upon research programmes of their respective Divisions.
