Srinagar: The 63rdPre-Research Council Meet for Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry(FVSC&AH), SKUAST Kashmir was held on Thursday Dean’s Conference Hall at Shuhama Alusteng under the Chairmanship of Prof.Sarfaraz Ahmad Wani, Director Research SKUAST-Kashmir. The meeting was Co-chaired by Prof. M.T. Banday, Dean FVSc & AH and was attended by Prof. M.R. Fazili (Associate Director Research Animal Science), Prof. S. A. Kamil (University Librarian), Prof.Manzoor ur Rehman (Editor SKUAST Journal), Dr. Arif Pandith (Assistant Director, Research).
The meeting was attended by all heads of the Division along with their respective scientific staff and presented their research proposals and the action taken report on various issues of concern. At the outset Prof. Banday Dean FVSc & AH, welcomed the audience and presented the agenda of the meeting related to FVSc & AH for deliberations on scientific lines.
Director Research, emphasized on the scientists to set up their research priorities based on the rising field challenges with more emphasis on collaborative approach with line departments as well as with other units of University. Prof Sarfaraz also stressed the scientists to submit their externally sponsored Projects well in time with various national and international agencies for a better quality research for upliftment of the farming community in a professional manner. Earlier, Dean FVSc& AH, Prof. Banday highlighted the importance of Research Council Meeting with regard to effective research planning for the development of livestock sector with broader consultations of various concerned stakeholders.
During daylong meeting of 21 Divisions/units of FVSc & AH, numerous research proposals and projects were discussed thread bare for their refinement for the final RCM presentation at University level. The meeting summed up with a positive note of incorporation of necessary changes suggested during the discussions to various proposals and ended with formal vote of thanks.
