Srinagar: The scientists namely Dr. Malik Mukhtar and Dr. Asma Sherwani of the Division of Entomology Faculty of Horticulture SKUAST Kashmir Shalimar paid a diagnostic visit to various areas of the district Bandipora in connection with identification of insect pests infesting Apple and suggesting remedial measures of pest attack.
The diagnostic visit was held in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture and HDO Shakeel-ur-Rahman was accompanying the team of scientists. The team visited Kunan, Arin, Sumlar and Malangam and their adjoining areas. Blossom thrip infestation was observed in apple orchards. Necessary remedial measures were given to the orchardists and other stakeholders. Further black headed fireworm damage was not observed from the visited areas.
