AB-PMJAY SEHAT: Signature campaign cum awareness programme held at Purmandal

Block nearing target of 100 percent coverage: BMO

JAMMU: A signature cum awareness programme was today organised at Block Development Office, Purmandal to speed up registration and apprise people about the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) SEHAT scheme.
The programme was organized by Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department in consultation with district administration and concerned Block Medical Officer (BMO).
Chairman Municipal Committee Bari Brahmana, Sarpanch, Panch and Radio Jockey participated in the campaign.
The signature campaign witnessed huge participation of people, who have already registered for (AB PM-JAY) SEHAT and possessed golden cards. The participants shared their experience and asked others to avail cash less medical treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, BMO, Dr Shamim Choudhary said that the purpose of the initiative was to speed up the registration for SEHAT scheme and to mobilise the left out population so that they are entitled to the benefits of Golden Card.
He added that special registration drive is going on at all BDO offices across Samba district.
“People need to carry their Ration card and Aadhar card to obtain their Golden card. People with Ayushman Bharat Golden card can get free treatment of up to Rs 5 Lakh at all government and empanelled private hospitals across India,” he said.
The AB-PMJAY scheme is the world’s largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the government. This scheme provides a cover of Rs 500,000 per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. This ambitious health insurance scheme enables all residents of Jammu and Kashmir including employees and pensioners as well as their families to avail cashless quality health care services across public and private empanelled hospitals across India.
