4 drug peddlers arrested from Bandipora, Awantipora along with contraband substances

Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Bandipora & Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession. Acting on a specific information regarding movement of drug peddlers in Submal, a police party of police Station Sumbal led by SHO PS Sumbal under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Shri Surender Mohan-JKPS laid a special checkpoint at Arampora Sumbal and arrested 02 notorious drug peddlers. During checking, 15 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Reshi son of Gh Qadir Reshi resident of Bhat Mohalla Sumbal and Manzoor Ahmad Paray son of Ab Jabar Paray resident of Bazar Mohalla Sumbal. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody. It is pertinent to mention that the duo was supplying drugs to the youths of the area in order to make them drug addicts.
In Awantipora, a police party of Police Post Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Datpora Reshipora intercepted 02 suspicious persons identified as Bilal Ahmad Fafoo son of Gh Rasool Fafoo and Umer Manzoor Sheikh son of Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh both residents of Habba Kadal Srinagar. During checking, officers were able to recover 06 grams of heroin like substance from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.
