SKUAST-K, Khyber Greens to work for profitable fodder farming

Srinagar: In order to boost the seed production of fodder crops and make availability quality feed for livestock, amemorandum of understanding was signed today at Shalimar Srinagar between SK of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) and M/S Khyber Greens Pvt Ltd, a company registered under the Companies Act with its registered office at First Floor Goni Khan Hazuri Bagh Road, Srinagar.
The two partners were represented by Dr. Sarafaraz Ahmad Wani, Director Research SKUAST-K, and Mr Rouf Ahmad Tramboo, Managing Director Khyber Greens.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, Directors and Deans of the University, Prof and Head Dryland Agriculture Research Station, Budgam, OSD to Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Managing Director Khyber Greens and his consultant. The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the scientific team and Khyber Greens for their efforts in developing this MoU with Khyber Greens, Srinagar and expressed his desire that this collaborative project can be game changer in livestock sector of the UT in future.
SKUAST-K and M/S Khyber Greens Pvt. Ltd. decided to collaborate for the purpose of promoting research and extension in livestock feed and fodder production, conservation, and fortification, in accordance with the parties’ respective guidelines.
The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish a mutually beneficial partnership between SKUAST-K and M/S Khyber Greens Pvt Ltd in order to promote livestock feed and fodder production. Through its valley-wide network of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), SKUAST-K aims to popularise high yielding fodder varieties and increase farmer awareness about fodder production, preservation, and fortification practises. Under the terms of this agreement, Khyber Green has sought to increase the production of high-quality feed and fodder in Kashmir by promoting and popularising improved SKUAST-K fodder varieties in a variety of crops. Additionally, Khyber greens aims to introduce fodder preservation and fortification through the use of cutting-edge machinery and technologies
