Seven-Day Skill training Of Rural Youth concludes at SKUAST-Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Directorate of Extension under the able leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai organized a valedictory function of Eleven STRY training programmes each of one-weekduration.
Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The function was held at NundReshi Convention Centre SKUAST-Kashmir. The session was also attended by Associate Director Extension (A.S) Prof. Masood Salim Mir, Dy. Director Trainings and Scientists of the Directorate of Extension. Out of the total eleven trainings, eight training were on mushroom production technology-waste to wealth management wherein rural youth from various districts of the valley participated. one training each on “First Aid Management of Livestock”, “Production of organic milk and its potential for entrepreneurship in the dairy sector” and “Employment generation through vermicomposting” was also held.
During the feedback session the trainees expressed satisfaction and thanked SKUAST-Kashmir especially Vice Chancellor for organizing such programmes.Director Extension distributed the certificates among the participants.In addition to above the participants were also felicitated with different kits viz a vizVermicompost packs, Mushroom Compost packs with spawns and mineral supplement for milk yield improvement.
Director Extension in his address while highlighting the vision and mission of SKUAST-Kashmir stressed upon the concept of earning while learning. He impressed upon all the trainees that they must utilize this training and try to earn their livelihood utilizing the skill imbibed from the training.
