Say No To Drugs Awareness/ Counselling camps held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA: As part of outreach and awareness activities under Mission Youth and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Department of Health Bandipora today conducted daylong seminars in different schools and AWCs of the district.
The programme was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad.
Various Health teams visited schools and AWCs to provide awareness regarding drug abuse and its ill effects.
Block Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr. Masrat said that various agencies working in the field of drug counseling care & management need to put joint collaborative efforts to weed out the social evil of drugs.
During the seminar hundreds of people pledged to say no to drug.
He said we need to stop the supply of drugs and provide proper treatment to drug-addicts and help them to get rid of this addiction.
Dr. Masrat said awareness can play a major role to remove this social evil.
He said under the drug de-addiction drive, Health department will create more awareness about its ill-effects in rural areas.
