3 days capacity building programme inaugurated at KVK Budgam

SRINAGAR: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Budgam inaugurated three days capacity building training programme on “Role of Balanced diet and Nutrition in Small Ruminants” at KVK Budgam campus on 17-03-2022. The programme is sponsored by Ministry of Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying , Govt. of Inida. Prof. Dil Mohd Makdoomi, Director ExtensionSKUAST-Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion. District Sheep Husbandry Officer Budgam, Dr Mohd Ashraf Baba, and Deputy Director Research, Disease Investigation Laboratory Nowshera, Deptt. Of Sheep Husbandry Kashmir, Dr Mohd Maroof Shah were the Guests of Honour. Dr Farahnaz Rasool, Deputy Director Trainings, Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, Assistant Professor, DoE SKUAST-K were among the attendees. A total of 40 participants from farflung areas of Budgam participated in the said training programme. Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Budgam, Dr Nasir Ahmad Dar welcomed the Guests and gave a brief overview of KVK activities. Dr. Mir Nadeem Hassan, Training Coordiantorof the programme conducted the proceedings of the inaugural function.During the programme, Prof. Dil Mohd Makdhoomi emphasized on the role of Sheep Husbandry sector in enhancing the livelihood of the farming community and stressed on the need of scientific sheep rearing for doubling the farmers income.Dr. Mohd Maroof Shah discussed about the formation and promotion of FPO’s in Sheep Husbandry Sector. Dr. Mohd. Ashraf Baba held a detailed interaction with the participants and briefed them about various programmes and schemes of the Govt. in sheep farming. Alongside the inaugural function, Paddy Seed (SR-4) distribution programme among the farmers under FLD was also kickstarted and the Chief Guest distributed seed among the farmers .Dr Vaseem Yousuf, Scientist Plant Protection presented vote of thanks.
