2 chicken shops sealed in Pampora for not adhering to govt rate list

PAMPORE: Two chicken shops were sealed by the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department during market checking for violating the government approved rates at Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
During the checking, the inspection team checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists of food items and other essential commodities, a fine of Rs. 4100 was realized from various erring shopkeepers.
A team of Market Checking Squad of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CAD) led by Tehsil Supply Officer Ayash Farooq sealed two Chicken shops for violating the government approved rates during market checking at Khrew area of Pampore Tehsil.
The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders, he said that such drives will continue to ensure quality of commodities, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Tehsil Supply Officer Ayash Farooq said on the directions of Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs,, a market checking team squad of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CAD) conducted checking at Khrew area of Pampore . The team inspected various food establishments including Chicken Shops, mutton shops, restaurants, hotels, bakery shops, fruit and vegetable shops besides various other establishments, he said.
During the inspection, the team sealed two chicken dealers for violating the government approved rates in the area and recovered a fine of Rs 4100 from various erring shopkeepers.
The inspection team checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists of food items and other essential commodities, he said
He also urged shopkeepers not to violate the rules besides displaying the rate lists at their respective shops.
TSO Pampore Ayash told Kashmir Reader that such drives will continue to ensure quality of commodities.
He also requested the general public of Pampore and Khrew to contact the department in case of rate violation in their areas.
