Police arrests 4 drug peddlers in Budgam, contraband recovered

Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Officers from Police Station Magam at a checkpoint established at Adina Crossing Magam intercepted four persons roaming in suspicious condition who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. During search, 480 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon Plus and 50 grms of charas were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Nayeem Akbar Wani son of Mohd Akbar resident of Agrikalan Magam, Zahid Ahmad Bhat son of Late Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Pethkanihama, Irfan Ahmad Hajam son of Ab Hamid and Irfan Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad both residents of Aripanthan. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 36/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
