Srinagar: Police in Sopore have seized illicit timber at Kiterdaji Rafiabad area of Sopore.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling at Kiterdaji Rafiabad, a police party of PS Dangiwacha under the close supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Ameen Bhat-JKPS raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber. However, the accused persons involved in the commission of crime managed to escape from spot and efforts are on to effect their arrest.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 22/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation set into motion.
The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold. Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
