Urs of Wahab Sahab observed at Shar Shali shrine

PAMPORE: The annual death anniversary of famous saint, Wahab Khaar alias Wahab Sahab, was observed at his shrine at Wahab Sahab Shaar Shali village of Pampore area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
A large number of devotees thronged the shrine.
The devotees were seen reciting Darood, Naat and Manqabat.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Chairman Auqaf Committee Shar Shali, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Wani, said that Abdul Wahab Khaar alias Wahab Sahab is a well known Sofi saint of contemporary period.
” He was born on 23 March 1810 and left for heavenly abode on 05 March 1910,” he said, adding that they assembled at his shrine today to observe his death anniversary.
Mohammad Ramzan Ahangar, a descendant of Wahab Sahab, told Kashmir Reader that they have observed this day each year since the saint left this world.
He said that night long prayers were held during which devotees recited Khatmat ul Mazoomaat.
He told Kashmir Reader that Wahab Khaar Sahab day will be observed in the month of April.
” Due to the eruption of COVID pandemic, the Wahab Khar day was put on hiatus,” he said, adding that they will seek permission from the government for organizing the Wahab Khar day.
” If permission is granted the day will be observed in collaboration with the cultural academy and in case we are unable to get permission devotees will be informed about that,” he said.
