Srinagar: Awami National Conference President Begum Khalida Shah welcomes decision to open Kashmir’s historic Jamia Masjid to people for prayers.
In statement issued the ANC Chief Begum Khalida Shah while welcoming the decision to open the historic Jamia Masjid for regular prayers said that this decision would go a long way to rebuild confidence among the people of Kashmir alongside bridging the gap of prevailing uncertainty & alienation among the people in J&K.
The ANC Chief further urged the LG government to initiate the process of dialogue and reconciliation in solving the genuine socio-political aspirations of the people. She said unless the govt doesn’t take people into confidence, all exercises to bring peace in Jammu and Kashmir would not bear any desired results. The ruling clique instead of taking shelter under use of muscle power needs to build bridges with all segments of the society, all
stakeholders , civil society groups and political parties by holding dialogue and reconciliation to bring peace in the troubled Jammu and Kashmir.
Begum Khalida Shah further demanded that all the political prisoners irrespective of their beliefs should be set free unconditionally to pave way for a much awaited dialogue process for peace in J&K & redressal of its economic & political issues which can no longer be swept under the carpet.
