FCSCA fined 9 dry fruit, Saffron sellers during market checking at Lethpora area, 4500 fine realised

PAMPORE: A team of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCSCA) conducted market checking on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Lethpora area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Thursday.
Tehsil Supplier Officer Pampore Aayash Farooq told Kashmir Reader that on the directions of Assistant Director Food and Civil Supplies Pulwama Sheikh Enayat, a team conducted market checking to dry fruit, Saffron seller markets at Lethpora area of Pampore .
During the checking, the team recovered an amount of Rs.4500 as fine from the Dry fruit sellers and Saffron sellers.
Tehsil Supplier Officer Pampore Ayash Farooq told Kashmir Reader that they were receiving information that some dry fruit shops and saffron sellers were selling dry fruits at exorbitant rates.
“ The dry fruit packets and saffron packs were having no labels regarding manufacture date etc and rate lists were not displayed,’’ he said, adding that
the team realised a fine of Rs 4500 from nine Dry fruit and saffron sellers.
The team warned of strict action under law against violators.
The officials said that they will continue the action.
