Rajab Shah Mohalla in Pampore town without electricity for 10 days after transformer damaged

PAMPORE: Residents of Rajab Shah Mohalla Namblabal in Saffron Town Pampore alleged Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to repair a damaged transformer.
They said that around 40 households and 80 shopkeepers have been without electricity for the last 10 days.
The residents told Kashmir Reader that the area was provided with electricity from a 400 KV transformer which was damaged last week after plunging the area into darkness.
“Power Development Department (PDD) failed to repair or replace the transformer despite repeated requests and reminders by the consumers of the area,” the residents said, adding that due to non availability of electricity during snow cold weather they face immense hardships and their children were unable to access online classes.
Nadeem Ahmad, a resident of Namblabal told Kashmir Reader that the transformer installed in their vicinity got damaged around 10 days ago which PDD failed to replace or repair, thereby creating problems for the people in the ongoing chilly weather conditions.
“Despite repeated requests to the PDD authorities for repairing the damaged transformer and restoring power supply, nothing was done,” he said.
The people appealed Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary to intervene in the matter and redress their grievances.
