DC Bla finalizes Action Plan for IPPI-2022

1.62 lakh children to be vaccinated, 845 booths set up in the district

BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today convened a meeting of the concerned officers here to finalize the Action Plan and arrangements for smooth conduct of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IPPI) -2022 scheduled for 27th of this month in the district.
On the occasion, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Baramulla, Dr. Waheeda Firdous apprised DC that as many as 162175 children of the district in the age group of 0-5 years will be administered polio vaccines on February 27 across the district for which adequate arrangements have been put in place.
The DC was informed that 845 vaccination booths have been established in several medical zones of the district with deployment of 1175 health workers, 1186 Asha Workers and 169 Supervisors.
Further 11 Transit vaccination booths operated in all blocks across the district have been set up to facilitate the people, the DIO added.
After taking a detailed review, the DC said that it is the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to achieve the fixed targets to keep the district polio free.
Moreover, the DC asked for wide publicity of the program through mass media so that no child is left out especially in the far-flung areas of the district.
The meeting was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, M Asadullah Rather, Chief Education Officer, G.M.Lone, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Waheeda Firdous, District Health Officer, Bajan Kour, District Social Welfare Officer, Showkat Ahmad Showkat besides all Block Medical Officer of the district were present on the occasion.
