Srinagar: One week “Awareness cum Technology Demonstration For Promotion of Sericulture of Pattan Block, District Baramulla”was inaugurated today on 21st February 2022 at College of TemperateSericulture SKUAST-K Mirgund.At the onset of programme, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Bhat Assistant Professor and Programme Co-coordinator welcomed the participants and also gave brief of theprogramme.Prof (Dr.) M. F. Baqual, Associate Dean of the College spoke in detail about the relevance of the programme keeping in view recent advances made in the field of Sericulture. He also expressed his gratitude to the JK Science Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, Jammu and Kashmir for providing financial support for implementing the programme and also wished the programme a grand success. Prof. (Dr.) Zia-ul-Haque, Head Division of Sericulture Crop Improvement of the College presented a brief summary of the programme to the participants. At last, Prof K. A. Sahaf, Head Division of Silk Product Science presented a vote of thanks. Besides participants, scientists of the different Divisions of the College attended the inaugural session.
