2 drug peddlers in Ganderbal; contraband substance recovered

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from PP Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Shri Abdul Majid-JKPS at a checkpoint established at Waskoora intercepted a vehicle (Xylo) bearing registration number JK15-0610 with two persons on board. During search, officers were able to recover 15 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 128 capsules of banned drugs from their possession. They have been identified as Bilal Ah Parry son of Ali Mohammad Parry resident of Wangipora Sumbal and Javid Ah Ganie son of Gh Mohammad Ganie resident of Lar. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
