Directorate of Extension SKUAST-Kashmir kicks started 5 days training programme

Srinagar: A five day training programmer started at Directorate of Extension SKUAST-Kashmir today on 22-Feb, 2022 in collaboration with National Centre for Management of Agricultural Extensionon “Strengthening Agriculture Extension Through Market Linkages”.
Vice –Chancellor Nazir Ahmad Ganai presided over the programme and gave his appreciation for organizing farmer friendly and need based programmes. The inaugural session of the programme was co-hosted by Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi Director Extension Dr. P Chandra Shaker , Director General Manager Dr. Shalender Singh Deputy Director (behavioral studies) and scientists of the Directorate of Extension. Dr. Masood Saleem Mir, Assoc Director (A.S) welcomed the guests and other participants.
Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir in his address briefed about the importance of market linkages for strengthening sustainability of agriculture. He stressed upon the need of the present scenario of connecting farmers and industry in a way to boost the economy of the farmers and bring a notable change in this agriculture industry sector. He laid stress on formation of FPOs so that our farms may be able to develop market linkages in agriculture and allied sectors.
Digital marketing and market intelligence have to be dealt with farmers to be acquainted with the latest development for an exchange at global level. The programme was ended by a vote of thanks presented by prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani Associate Director (Agri). The programme continues till Saturday.
