Driver from Rajouri dies in highway road accident near Awantipora

AWANTIPORA: A pickup driver was killed in a road mishap on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Lethpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning, police officials told Kashmir Reader.
The deceased driver has been identified as Abid Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Shakoor, resident of Rajouri.
According to reports, the accident took place between Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK11D-8276 driven by Abid Ahmad Malik, resident of Kandhole Rajouri and a truck near Lethpora, both the vehicles are coming from Anantnag to Srinagar side collided with each other, resulting injuries to Tata Mobile driver and his cousin brother Arif Ahmad Malik son of Mohammad Sabir. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment where driver Abid Malik was declared brought dead by doctors at SDH Pampore.
The injured person was discharged from the hospital after treatment.
Police Awantipora arranged a vehicle and the dead body of the deceased shifted to Rajouri.
Meanwhile, police Awantipora have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.
