Chief Horticulture Officer Pulwama inspects ongoing developmental works at Pampore

PAMPORE: Chief Horticulture Officer Pulwama, Mukesh Sharma tours various areas of Pampore Tehsil in Pulwama district where he inspected the ongoing development works of the Horticulture department.
HDO Pampore, Member of Kisan Advisory Board Irshad Ahmad Dar and other officials accompanied the Chief Horticulture during the tour, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Talking to Kashmir Reader at Galander, Chief Horticulture Officer Pulwama said that the tour was conducted on the directions of Director General Horticulture, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat.
Developmental activities were inspected in Fruit Nursery Galander, Shar Shali, Ladhoo, Chandhara, Lethpora and other areas of the zone Pampore.
During interaction with orchardists, onspot instructions were given to field staff to address their problems.
Suggestions of farmers were taken into consideration.
The Chief Horticulture Officer informed that the department is focusing on activities like construction of Pack houses for storage
of fruits in the field, vermicompost units for organic farming, High density plantations for more crop, mechanization for speeding the farm work and to meet the labour shortages and the department will do each and every thing to help the orchardists.
During interaction, he informed and advised the farming community to go for orchard sanitation to prevent the orchards from disease and pest infestation. He also advised them to consult the field staff before going for any spraying and to purchase pesticides from registered dealers after obtaining invoice.
It was also informed that no of the dealers can dump, distribute or sell the HMO without registration from the Central Insecticide Board.
