One week Online Faculty Development Program concludes at GCET, Jammu

JAMMU: One week online Faculty Development Programme(FDP) on “Recent Emerging Trends in Electrical Engineering” (RETEE-2022) organised by Department of Electrical Engineering, Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu for Faculty and Research Scholars of different engineering institutions of the country concluded, here today.
The event was held under the patronage of Dr Sameru Sharma, Principal, GCET, Jammu.
During the one week programme, eminent Speakers & academicians of different institutions /organizations who delivered expert talk in their respective fields of research were Dr. Sunanda Sinha &Dr.RavitaLamba MNIT, Jaipur,Dr.Y.P. Verma&Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma UIET Chandigarh, Mr. B.A. Landge DRDO AhmednagarDr. Anup Shukla IIT, Jammu,Dr. Prasenjit Basak&Dr.Jitendar Kaushal TIET Patiala, Dr. Arvind Kumar Dinghra GNDE Ludhiana and Mr. Swastik Gupta SMVDU Katra amongst others.
Around 60 participants from different institutions of the country participated in the said event. At the end Miss. Monika Mitter proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the department.
The areas covered under programme were Renewable Energy, Smart Grid, Aspects & challenges of micro grids, Energy, Audit & management, Electric Vehicles,Defense Perspective, Solar based advanced direct energy conversion technologies for power generation, Introduction to modeling& simulation of Electrical System using OPAL-RT Simulator,future trends in PV Applications and MatLab application in control systems.
The Principal GCET Jammu appreciated the department for organizing the event, especially the Co-coordination committee members Dr.Ameesh Sharma, Rahul Khajuria and Monika Mitter. She said that this type of programme not only enriches the minds of faculty & research scholars but also gives them new horizons to work. She stressed on holding such type of events regularly.
Associate Professor & Head Electrical Engineering Department, Rajiv Kumar Bali emphasized upon the importance of FDP in the contemporary times. He said that the main aim of organizing the FDP was to enrich the knowledge of faculties and researchers through interaction with eminent speakers from academia and industries, to improve the teaching learning process.
On behalf of the department he extended his deepest thanks to Dr.Sameru Sharma for her support & guidance in conducting the program.
