Notorious drug peddler,associate from Rajouri arrested by Police in Pampore

PAMPORE: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three drug peddlers including two Rajouri residents and recovered five Kilograms of grinded cannabis powder and vehicle used in the crime also seized in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Sunday.
A police officer told Kashmir Reader that on specific information, the police party of Police Station Pampore led by SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan, laid a naka at Frestabal Pampore near Char Yaar Masjid Shareef for checking of vehicles. During the vehicle checking police stopped a vehicle bearing registration number JK13C-3044 during the search of the vehicle 5 Kilograms of grinded cannabis was recovered from the possession of the arrested drug peddlers boarding in the vehicle.
The trio identified as notorious drug peddler Abdul Gani Mir son of Abli Mir, resident of Frestabal Pampore, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary son of Mohammad Sharif, resident of Rajouri and Hassan Mohammad Bajran son of Fakeer Mohammad, resident of Rajouri Bagla.
The trio have been shifted to the police station Pampore where they remain in custody.
He said vehicle used in the commission of the said crime have also been seized.
Talking to Kashmir and SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad said that they were having information about his movement through the Pampore area and for this reason a checking was carried out during which a notorious drug peddler was apprehended with two other persons.
The trio were traveling in a private vehicle.
He said that Gani Mir, resident of Frestabal Pampore, was a notorious drug peddler and involved in many cases related to drugs.
He was also supplying drugs to youth in Pampore using his vehicle.
“With his arrest, police saved the youth from the peddler,” he said.
“Our mission of Drug free Pampore and
drive against peddlers will continue,”.
SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf has assured the community members that such efforts will be taken in future also to keep our society free from the evils of drug menace, he said.
A case FIR number 10/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Pampore. Further Investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, local residents appreciated the role of police Pampore for nabbing the three drug peddlers in Saffron Town.
