Jammu: Government Degree College Kalakote in collaboration with NSS unitorganizeda webinar on the “awareness of HIV/AIDS” by Red Ribbon Club under the able guidance of Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote,in which number of students joined the webinar and took participation.
The Event was commenced with a formal speech by memberof RedRibbon club Dr. Tariq Rashid Wani where he highlighted that HIV affects not only the health of individual but also impacts household communities and economic growth of the nation. He also emphasized that the people should unite in the fight against HIV and shows their support to people living with HIV.
In this event Partiba Guptaof B.A. Semester 3rd bagged the First Prize, Pankaj Singh and Tanveer Ahmed of B.A. semester 5thgotthe Second Prize and Kavita Sharma of B.A.Semester 3rdgot the third prize in this competition. The judges of the event were Pooja Rana and Vrinda Sharma where they congratulated students for their participation in the event.
the occasion, Principal GDC Kalakote, Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta shared his valuable views onprevention of HIV.Heinformed students about the major preventive measures to be taken in order to stay safe and prevent one from getting infected. He further added that one should avoid sharing contaminated needles and syringes, and get tested if one thinks one might be at risk.
Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta appreciated the students for their enthusiasm and active participation in the event. He also said that such types of webinars not only encourage in future participation but also imbibe confidence among the students. He also congratulations to the organizing committee and wish them for the successful webinar.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks given by Jyoti Devi. All teaching and Non-teaching staff was also joined webinar in this occasion.
