Petrol pump sealed for violating safety measures at Drangbal

PAMPORE: Amid spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the district, Deputy commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-ul-Haq along with SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf and Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl on Saturday visited Saffron Town Pampore to check the implementation of Covid restrictions imposed by the government in view of the surge in corona cases in Jammu and Kashmir from last couple of weeks.
During the inspection Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary ordered sealed filling station for safety measures, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Accompanied by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and other officials, carried out the inspection of the whole town to check if the Covid lockdown was adhered to by the shopkeepers. He visited various market places on foot and directed the officials accompanying him to ensure the strict implementation of Covid restrictions in the interest of the safety of people.
During the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary,
also paid a surprise visit to the petrol pump , M S Masoodi motors near Drangbal Pampore for not adhering to the safety measures.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary taking to Kashmir Reader said that the petrol pump was found to be violating safety rules.
“Petrol pump had not installed fire extinguishers. Besides oil tanks were not well protected and CCTV not installed in the premises of the pump. The pump was sealed on spot for failing to abide by the safety measures,” he said.
The notice was also served to the officer looking after the operations of the Indane oil petrol pumps in the district and he has been asked to explain why the petrol pumps of the company are not taking safety measures.
“The company official is expected to reply to the notice in a couple of days,” DC said.
The Deputy Commissioner told Kashmir Reader that the inspection was carried out to take stock of the implementation of various Government Advisories, Guidelines and Covid-19 SOPs such as wearing of Masks, maintaining social distance, and other practices to protect the public health and prevent the spread of infection of the deadly Coronavirus.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary along with SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf and other senior officers also visited Awantipora and Tral area to take the first-hand appraisal of COVID appropriate behaviour enforcement.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama visited various markets to oversee the CAB enforcement.
While interacting with the traders and pedestrians, the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama asked them to ensure strict compliance to the Government directions for larger public safety and health.
