Ex-servicemen meet held at Srinagar

Srinagar: An Ex-servicemen meet was held here in Srinagar at Tattoo Ground organised by a unit of Indian Army, where many Ex-servicemen along with War Widows participated. The event was organised in order to connect to our Tri-services veterans and address their issues.
The event consisted of many programmes which included a talk by Mr Rasheed War, Zila Sainik Board and speech by Maj Moseen Moneer (Retd) on collective efforts by our veteran soldiers during fight against pandemic and support extended to Civil Administration.
The event witnessed emotional scenes as martyred soldiers were remembered with the words Balidaan, (Sacrifice) towards their country. Most of the Participants were aiming to send their wards to join the Indian Army. Sadia, a daughter of fallen soldier Showkat who aimed to join Indian Air Force was full of pride that his father sacrificed his life for the nation during an anti Militancy operation in Uri Sector along Line of Control. Saidia remembered her father with moist eyes and thanked the efforts of the Indian Army to establish a connection with her family. She said that like her father she also wants to serve the nation and its countrymen.
At last Ex-servicemen were given mementos and presented gifts ahead of 26 January, Republic Day Celebration.
