Police solves theft case in Budgam, accused person arrested

Srinagar: Police in Budgam solved a theft case within 24 hours by arresting the accused person involved in the crime and have recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees.
Yesterday, Police Station Budgam received a complaint from one person namely Mohammad Hussain Malla resident of Paller Budgam wherein he stated that gold ornaments worth 1.5 lakhs have been stolen by some unknown person/persons from his house.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 12/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, many suspects were called for questioning and during questioning one of the suspects namely Ajaz Ahmed Rather son of Showkat Ahmad Rather resident of Dangerpora Sumbal Bandipora confessed his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, stolen property including 04 golden rings & 10 ear rings were recovered. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
