Awareness cum mask distribution drive held by police in Pampore

PAMPORE: The Jammu and Kashmir Police distributed face masks among the people during a special drive at Saffron Town Pampore.
In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, police in Pampore launched an awareness cum mask distribution drive at Pampore.
The people were asked to ensure implementations of COVID-19 SOPs, police officials told Kashmir Reader.
Police party headed by SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan distributed masks among the people at various places, including Sumo Stand Tanchibagh and Khrew Chowk, Drangbal areas of the town.
During the drive around 1000 free face masks distributed in the town.
The shopkeepers, Sumo drivers, hawkers and pedestrian were asked to adopt COVID appropriate behaviour.
“Avoid crowding, wear face masks and maintain social distance,” the people were instructed.
“The awareness cum mask distribution was done on the instruction of the SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf,” SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
He said people were asked to wear masks, avoid crowds and ensure maintenance of social distancing at working places as well as religious places which is the only way to get rid from this pandemic.
Police also distributed face mask in Awantipora, Reshipora and Tral area among the hundreds of people.
According to police officials, 330 persons found without wearing masks in different areas of Police District Awantipora were fined on account of violating the government order.
Police district Awantipora requested the general public of Pampore, Khrew, Awantipora and Tral to co–operate with law enforcing agencies to contain the spread of Covid -19 pandemic. Please cooperate to save yourself and your loved ones.
The religious heads and community leaders are requested to join hands for spreading awareness to safeguard our people from this deadly virus.
