Sundaram Mutual gets new chief investment officer (equity)

Chennai: Sundaram Mutual has announced the appointment of Ravi Gopalakrishnan as its chief investment officer (equity).
Prior to taking up the new role, Ravi was serving Principal Mutual Fund as head-equities.
“Sundaram Mutual announces the closure of acquisition of Principal Mutual Fund today and welcomes Ravi Gopalakrishnan as Chief Investment Officer (equity)”, the company said in a statement here on Saturday.
Sundaram Mutual said during the tenure of Ravi Gopalakrishnan, many principal schemes were rated well.
A double Masters degree-holder, including an MBA from Bradley University, the USA, Ravi has over three decades of experience in investment research and asset management with successful performance across multiple asset management firms and business cycles.
“We are delighted to have Ravi onboard. He is a strong, cultural fit with a down-to-earth and process-based approach to managing funds as well as teams,” Sundaram Finance executive vice-chairman Harsha Viji said. “I am sure his induction will aid our aspiration to deliver superior customer delight through consistency of performance and wealth creation,” he said.
Sundaram Mutual managing director Sunil Subramaniam said, “I am confident that Ravi, with his dozen years of experience in leading equity investment teams and with a good recall in the distribution fraternity, will help our institution scale greater heights”.
