KVK Srinagar holds program on ‘Scientific Sheep and Goat Rearing’

SRINAGAR: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Srinagar kick started three days Capacity building training program for farmers on “Scientific Sheep and goat rearing and its role in the subsidiary occupation generation” funded by MFAH&D GoI, started at KVK Srinagar. Director Extension SKUAST Kashmir Prof. D. M. Makhdoomi who was the chief guest of the function emphasised the Entrepreneurship opportunities in Sheep and Goat rearing, importance of formation of FPO’s and cooperatives for better marketing. Director Education SKUAST Kashmir Prof. M.N. Khan and Associate Director Extension Prof. Masood Saleem were also present in the inaugural function of the training program.
Dr. Rekhi Singh, Head of the Kendra gave introductory remarks about the training program. Dr. Ajaz Ah. Ganie, Scientist –Animal Science, KVK Srinagar, training coordinator welcome the dignitaries and trainees and briefed about the objectives of the program. 40 livestock owners/farmers are participating in the training program.
