RAMBAN: District Industries Centre (DIC), Ramban organised a series of awareness camps on Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) here across Banihal Sub-division in the last two days.
The camps were held at Handicraft and Handloom centres in Kuthal Thethar and Khari to sensitise the trainees about PMEGP and other schemes in industrial and service sectors being implemented by the Department.
Similar camps were also held at Crewel Elementary Training Centre of Handicrafts, Kaskoot, Handicraft Sozni Training Centre Nagam Gund, Hinjal Pyt Douligam and Advance Course Crewel Kuthal Thethar in Banihal Sub-division.
Welcoming the trainees, General Manager DIC Ramban, VishwaJeet highlighted various schemes being implemented by the UT as well Central Government, so as to make the youth job creators instead of job seekers.
The GM asked the participants to register themselves with the DIC to avail benefits / subsidies of various youth and beneficiary oriented schemes. He also encouraged them to start their small ventures in manufacturing and services sectors by availing PMEGP scheme.
Assistant Director, Handicrafts and Handloom Ramban also sensitized the participants about the schemes of the department besides procedures and formalities required for registration under MSME and uploading of application forms for availing PMEGP scheme. He educated the participants about benefits of enrollment with DIC.
He also met with leading Beekeepers and suppliers, where they were apprised of the benefits and schemes of the Industries Department.
