275 PwD registered for 400 different assistive devices in Doda: DSWO

DODA: To ensure 100 saturation in providing the benefits to specially abled persons across the district, Social Welfare Department Doda and Artificial Limbs Corporation of India (ALIMCO) today concluded 4 day long assessment camp under Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) scheme here at Gandoh.
The camp was held under the overall guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma and in the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer(DSWO) Zubair Ahmed Lone.
Assessment of around 560 persons was conducted by the ALIMCO team in presence of Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Gandoh Touseef Zargar and other staff members of the Department. Around 275 persons were identified as specially abled and they will be provided nearly 400 assistive devices which were ever needed in near future free of cost.
In the said assessment camp, the differently abled persons were also made aware about various other welfare schemes run by the Department for them.
According to the DSWO, similar assessment camps will be organised in other parts of the district for which the schedule has already been circulated in print and electronic media. The department has appealed to the specially abled persons to visit these camp at their nearby locations to avail the required assistive devices.
