Yasha Mudgal assesses development works, achievements of Cooperatives

JAMMU: Secretary, Cooperative Department, Yasha Mudgal, today chaired an officers meeting to assess progress on development works besides taking stock of departmental achievements.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Cooperative, Rachana Sharma; Liquidator JAKFED, Mahesh Dass Sharma; Additional Secretary Cooperative, Ashok Kumar Dogra; Director Finance, Additional Registrar Cooperative, Dr Nirupa Rai; Joint Registrar Cooperative, Champa Devi; Deputy Secretary Cooperative, Kewal Kumar; Deputy Director Planning, Vijay Kumar, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrar of Jammu division; representatives of RBI, NABARD and other concerned while Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K, Shafqat Iqbal; Deputy Registrars; Assistant Registrars and other concerned officers from Kashmir division participated online.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues like amalgamation of Cooperative Banks, progress on JAKFED, Capex budget, audit and progress on instructions issued in previous meeting.
Secretary impressed upon the officers to achieve 100 percent set targets regarding registered societies and FPOs. She asked the officers to create awareness among the people about the benefit and role of registration of Cooperatives. She said that the aim to register the individuals and groups with department as Societies or FPOs is to provide them maximum benefit of various schemes.
Regarding amalgamation of Cooperative banks, Secretary directed the concerned officers to complete all the formalities in this regard as per guideline of RBI.
While reviewing ongoing works under Capex budget, the Secretary asked the officers to further speed up pace of progress on these vital projects so that are completed within stipulated time.
Mudgal asked the officers to submit all records to the department for finalization of issues of the JAKFED. She asked all the Deputy Registrars to coordinate with their respective Deputy Commissioners for spreading awareness regarding centrally sponsored schemes so that maximum beneficiaries are covered.
Secretary expressed satisfaction over successful implementation of e-office in the department and hoped that other allied offices would also implement the digital system at the earliest.
