Red Ribbon Club of GDC Kalakote organises HIV Awareness Campaign on the theme ‘End Inequalities; End AIDS’

Jammu: Red Cross/Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College Kalakote under the ages of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in collaboration with NSS unit of college and J&K AIDS Control Society is observing a series of events on the eve of World AIDS Day for the implementation of new India @75 3rd phase. The theme of World AIDS day is “End Inequalities; End AIDS”. AIDS Day is observed on 1st December every year with full fervour and zeal.
The event commenced with a formal address by the Nodal Officer Prof. Jyoti Devi, where she highlighted the causes and remedies related to spread of AIDS and why there is need for an awareness campaign at college level. On December 3rd GDC Kalakote organised an HIV awareness campaign where a number of students took participation and recorded a video of themselves in view of the global campaign against AIDS.
Surbhi Raina of B.A. Semester 5th bagged the First Prize. Pankaj Singh of B.A. Semester 5th got the Second Prize and Chahat Sharma of B.A. Semester 1st got the Third Prize in the video blog making competition on the HIV Awareness. The judges of the event were Dr. Tariq Rashid Wani, Priyanka Kumari and Vrinda Sharma. On the occasion, Principal GDC Kalakote Dr. Romesh Kr. Gupta said that people throughout the world should unite against HIV AIDS and should show their support for the people living with HIV. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks given by MS. Pooja Rana. The event was attended by one and all.
At last, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college appreciated the organizing committees for organizing this offline/online activity and also the faculty members.
