Faculty of Agriculture Wadura orginises tranning on bee keeping in Kupwara , Baramulla

Srinagar: Research and Training Centre for pollinators, Pollinizers and pollination Management, SKUAST-Kashmir organized 2 numbers of seven days Training programmes on “ Scientific Beekeeping” for Kupwara and Baramulla under NBHM Scheme sponsored by National Bee Board (NBB) (DAC & FW), Govt of India at Faculty of Agriculture Sopore starting Thursday.
On the Inauguration Ceremony, Mrs. SafeenBeigh, Hon’ble DDC, District, Baramulla was the chief Guest. The said Programme was also attended by Dr. Ab Hamid Hakeem, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture. Wadura, Sopore, Dr. Arshid Mughal, Associate Director Research SKUAST-Kashmir and other Faculty and officers from the line Departments, Dr. M.A. Parray (Principal Investigator of NBHM Projects in Scientific Beekeeping delivered the presentation on Beekeeping- a profitable enterprise and how to use honey bees in crop pollination to increase production and productivity.
Professor Parray also highlighted overall view of National Beekeeping and Honey Mission Scheme (NBHM) launched by GOI, in 2020. Dr. Arishid Mughal Associate Director Research stressed upon the participants of the said programme to adopt Beekeeping as an enterprise so that they can earn livelihood through Beekeeping. Dr. A.H.Hakeem delivered presentation on overall view of Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura. Mrs. Safeena suggested upon the participants to take Beekeeping as income generating avenue so that employment can be generated and advised the scientists to use their expertise for the Benefit of Beekeeping &Farming community.
