PAMPORE: Government Degree College Pampore on Wednesday organised a cycle race.
The race was organised on theme “Say yes to sports and no to drugs”.
The race was flagged off by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Dr Mukhtar Ahmad in presence of college principal Dr Seema Naz and other senior faculty members.
The cycle race started from gate no 1 of the college and culminated at tgate No 2.
Around 30 students participated in the race.
Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr Seema Naz mpressed upon the students about the importance of Sports over Drugs and how drugs ruin the future of society in all respects.
“The road race was organised by Tehsil administration Pampore, GDC Pampore and Social welfare department Pulwama. The theme was say no to drugs yes to sports and yes to life, a message was given to youth to play their part in eliminating the menace of drug addiction,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader.
