Kupwara: A black bear who was drowned in a deep well in Dorusa village of Lolab Kupwara on Tuesday was found dead inside the well as the officials of the wildlife department failed to save his life.
Local people of the area said that a black bear was drown inside a deep well in Kumar Mohla, Dorusa village of Lolab Kupwara on Tuesday morning and the local people forwarded its information to wildlife department, but till late Tuesday they (wildlife) could not reach on the spot due to which black bear died inside the well.
They said that on Wednesday local people retrieved the body. Meanwhile, the local people raised a question against the concern department who earlier assured that they are on the way to the spot to save the animal but later nobody reached the spot, due to which animal died inside the well.
A senior official of the wildlife department said that it is a totally careless approach of the field staff who couldn’t inform their seniors about the incident, he assured that they will take serious action against the field staff.
However the local people appealed to the authorities to take action against the department, so that such incidents would not repeat in future.
