Beerwah locals, cab operators demand early macadamisation of key routes

BUDGAM: The people and drivers from the Beerwah tehsil in Central Kashmir Budgam district demand the Roads and buildings department to carry macadamisation in the Beerwah -Budgam road as well as cab stands in the Beerwah town.
The locals and drivers from the Beerwah tehsil told the Kashmir Reader that due to the bad condition of the road, they are facing a lot of inconvenience in the area.
Abdul Hamid, President of the Evergreen Sumo stand Beerwah told the Kashmir Reader that the road connectivity from Hayatpora- Beerwah is in a worst condition as this road is the main connectivity which connects the Beerwah to district headquarters.
“Presently the Beerwah tehsil has two stands which include Sukhnag stand and Everygreen stand in which we have nearly two hundreds of vehicles in these two cab stands and we are also providing the services to the various villages of the Budgam district,” He said
Ahmad said that the roads as well as both the sumo stands in the Beerwah Tehsil are in the worst condition from last three years due to which the passengers and drivers are facing a lot of difficulties on a daily basis in the area. Beerwah is also sub district where traffic flow of the private and passengers vehicle is remain very as compared to other Tehsil of the Budgam district, ” He added.
Shabeer Ahmad, another local resident, told the Kashmir Reader that six years ago the government carried out the Macadamisation upon the Beerwah Budgam and Beerwah Magam road which provided relief for a few years.
“Presently the roads in the main Sub- district Beewah is in shambles as it has not been macadisated yet In the area, ” Ahmad said. Ahmad said that due to the potholes and bumpy road conditions in the Beerwah the people and drivers are facing a lot of inconvenience in the area.
“The government take necessary steps and should macadamise the main roads as well as the stands which is the demand of the general public as well as the drivers which are providing the services to the various villages of the Budgam, ” he said.
Assistant Executive Engineers Sub Division Beerwah, Zubair Ahmad told the Kashmir Reader that the Deputy Commissioner Budgam has written the letter to the government to release the funds for the Macadamisation purpose, when we will receive this fund the Macadamisation work will be started in the area.
