PAMPORE: A cleanliness drive and awareness programme were organised in Munciple Committee Pampore on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 152th birth anniversary at townhall Pampore on Saturday.
President MC Pampore Malik Mohammad Yaqoob, Executive Officer MC Pampore Mohammad Iqbal and vice president Zareena Akhtar launched the drive from townhall Pampore to National highway in which Secretary Bashir Ahmad, Nazir Ahmad, Syed Bedar besides other employees and other sanitation staff of Municipal Committee Pampore participated in the drive.
The people of Saffron town must cooperate with MC Pampore in keeping the town clean, green and free from pollution”, MC Chairman said during awareness programme Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
He further appealed to the people to throw the garage only in MCP’s door-to-door garbage collection vehicle and not in open areas.
A cleanliness drive was held at Tehsil office Pampore. This drive was led by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din along Tehsil official Mir Murwat Hussain and other staff members launched a cleanliness drive in premises of Tehsil office Pampore.
While speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar Pampore urged the employees to ensure that we maintain cleanliness in not only our office, houses, but also in areas around us. He said that cleanliness helps us in fighting several diseases as well.
Meanwhile, As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan police Pampore organized cleanliness drive in the primeses of police station Pampore.
The cleanliness drive was launched by SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad in presence of SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan, a number of police personnel participated.
The participants cleaned the police station and roads and also appealed the nearby people to keep the roads and their surrounding areas clean.
