Premier football league inaugurated

SRINAGAR: Downtown Heroes FC in a cliff-hanger beat J&K Bank Academy by a solitary goal in the inaugural match of Premier Football League match played at TRC ground here on Friday.
Both the teams exhibit quality football but failed to open their account as there was nothing to show in the score line when the teams went into drinks break.
In the second half both the teams tried to penetrate the defense lines but could not succeed and it was in the dying moments of the game when Downtown Heroes FC striker Shahmeer scored the match winning goal of the match.
When the final whistle blew the score-line remained 1-0 in favour of Downtown Heroes FC
Shahmeer of Downtown Heroes FC was declared man of the match.
Earlier, the teams were introduced to Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul who was the chief guest on the Occasion.
A Total of 16 top teams of Kashmir Province are participating in this event and total 59 matches will be played.
The Tournament is being telecast live.
