A function was held at Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar on 17.9.2021. The chief guest for the function was Shri Sarbananda Sonowal Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Ayush & Ministry of ports, shipping and waterways Govt. of India. The function was attended by various dignitaries including Shri Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special secretary Ministry of Ayush Government of India Director General Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine Prof Asim Ali Khan, Dr Mohan Singh Director ISM, Dr Abdul Kabeer. The Hon Minister along with other dignitaries’ staff and students planted 71 (seventy one) saplings in the Herbal garden of RRIUM. And then he took visit of the RRIUM and applauded the facility of the institute. While addressing, the Hon minister applauded the role of Indian system of medicine in general and Unani system of Medicine in particular and applauded. He congratulated the RRIUM for taking lead in the research in the Unani system of Medicine in Jammu & Kashmir. And emphasized that the CCRUM being the torch bearers of this system should work with zest in this field of medicine. While speaking on the occasion Esteemed DG CCRUM Prof Asim Ali Khan Sir gave a brief introduction about RRIUM and apprised the Hon Minister about future expansion plan of RRIUM Srinagar. The function ended with vote of thanks by Dr Seema Akbar Astt Dir IC RRIUM Srinagar.
