JKCSF asks govt to rollback disengagement order of Social Welfare Helpers

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has criticized government decision to disengage 918 helpers to supervisors in Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme of Social Welfare Department and termed it as an utter unfortunate move .
In a statement Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani said that disengagement of these helpers amounts to snatching the livelihood of those who have been serving the government for years together.
Besides doing their primary duties they have been at the forefront of the government’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic since the emergence of the pandemic and there is no genuine reason to disengage them. These helpers work on ground level. At a time when more and more youth need to be absorbed in social welfare department in Jammu and Kashmir such a decision is unacceptable. “Thousands of casual labourers, need-based daily-wagers, ,contractual employes ,contengent paid employes ,HDF ,scheme workers and others need regularization and one fails to understand what govt wants to convey by disengaging these helpers” Wani questioned
JKCSF urges upon govt to look into the by disengagement issue of these helpers with sympathetic consideration and ask the concerned department not to implement it.
