SKUAST holds interactive session on low cost Cocoon rearing

SRINAGAR: One Day Interaction / Demonstration session was conducted by Division of Cocoon Crop Production, College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund wherein farmers of adjacent areas of the College along with persons from Sericulture Development Department participated. The idea of the session was to bring awareness among rearers about the cost effective nature of low cost rearing huts where silkworm rearing could be conducted at ease for years together. Speaking on the occasion Prof. M.F. Baqual, Assoc. Dean of the College impressed upon all the participants that out of such sessions more and more benefit need to be drawn and all the instructions being given by the scientists pertaining to various operations of sericulture must be complied with. He further said that CoTS desires that all the technologies developed be implemented for increased income by the farmers. Earlier, Heads of various Divisions including Dr. K. A. Sahaf, Dr. Zia-ul-Haque and Dr. I.L. Khan also laid stress on the importance of such sessions. Dr. K. A. Dar, Scientist In charge while thanking the farmers also impressed upon them to adhere to instructions in full for over all betterment of the farming community.
