Emphasizes for Speeding up the vaccination process

SHOPIAN: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today conducted field tour of Hendev, Narwar, Manihal, Barbugh, Imamsahib and Pahnu areas of Shopian to take stock of Special Vaccination Drive going on to stop the spread of coronavirus.
On the occasion, the DDC exhorted upon the health functionaries and other concerned to gear up their activities to achieve the required target within stipulated time frame.
During the tour, the DDC inspected various vaccination sites of Imam Sahib. He also took stock of developmental activities besides holding public interaction programme.
The DDC was accompanied by Tehsildar Imamsahib, BDO Imamsahib and other senior officers of the district.
The tour was part of the weekly field tour programmes of the DDC to listen to public grievances at their doorsteps.
Vaishya inspected the ongoing macadamization works at different locations in Imam Sahib and adjacent areas. He stressed upon the officers to ensure that the highest standard of quality is maintained and asked them to expedite the works to meet the target.
He directed for shifting of transformer installed inside the under construction playing field at Manihal Imamsahib and directed the Tehsildar concerned for monitoring of the developmental work to complete it within the shortest possible time.
While inspecting the progress of work on Trenz-Sheikhpora Bridge, Vaishya cautioned the implementing agencies to meet the deadlines strictly. He said the government would not tolerate any inordinate delays in works and action as per law shall be taken against contractors who falil meet the deadlines or will not ensure standard quality of works.
He said the government can cancel the contract with such individuals or firms who won’t be able to do their job efficiently including macadamization.
During the visit, DDC also interacted with the locals to get feedback about the vaccination process, welfare schemes and developmental works.
Locals apprised the DDC about various issues faced by them with regard to availability of basic amenities including water supply, electricity, healthcare, irrigation and roads.
Vaishya assured of redressal of their grievances, he also passed on spot directions for redressal of several grievances on the spot.
