DC Pulwama visits FM Prichoo, inspects ongoing works at Deg. Coll. Pul

Appeals people to avail benefits under Government Schemes

PULWAMA: The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today visited Fruit Mandi (FM) Prichoo and took stock of ongoing developmental activities in the Mandi.
On the occasion, the DDC held threadbare discussion with the fruit growers regarding the current status of ongoing developmental activities in the Mandi. The DDC was apprised about the issues and initiatives pertaining to Fruit Mandi including Macadamization of approach, fresh drinking water facility, uninterrupted power supply, installation of street lights, digging of bore well.
The DDC on the occasion directed the concerned Executing Agencies for completion of ongoing works especially Macadamization of approach road in the first instance and also directed for timely completion of all works within a stipulated time frame, keeping in view the forthcoming harvesting season. He assured the fruit growers that all their demands and problems will be looked into and redressed at an earliest.
Choudhary said that District Administration is always on forefront and making its best efforts to assuage the problems being faced and will leave no stone unturned to resolve these problems. He stressed for achieving self reliance in the horticulture sector besides appealing to people to avail the benefits under Govt schemes in the sector.
He also held interaction with fruit growers and emphasized upon them to strictly adopt all the advisories related to COVID-19 Virus and stressed for wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
He said that a team of health functionaries will be deputed to Mega Fruit Mandi Prichoo for collecting sampling with regard to COVID-19 and appealed to the fruit growers for cooperating with health functionaries in this regard to save the precious life.
The DDC took a round of the Fruit Mandi and inspected fruit boxes received so far from the fruit growers of the district. President Fruit Growers Association and other fruit growers of the various areas of Pulwama district were present on the occasion.
Later, the DDC inspected the progress of Auditorium and directed the Officers to expedite the completion of pending works in the shortest possible time.
The DDC also inaugurated MK Auto Car Care at Gudoora which has been set up by a few unemployed youth having a potential to provide employment to scores of Youth.
