Accused was evading his arrest for a long time

Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Kulgam have arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Reyaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Churat Qazigund who was evading his arrest for a long time.
Acting swiftly on a specific information regarding his presence, a special team from PS Qazigund headed by SHO PS Qazigund under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Shri Govind Rattan-JKPS raided the specified location and arrested the said absconder.
As per police records, he was the mastermind of drug mafia along NHW in Qazigund area and was wanted by law for his involvement in cases vide FIR Nos. 171/2008, 227/2014, 208/2016, 209/2016, 161/2021 and 172/2021 of Police Station Qazigund registered against him.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
