SRINAGAR: Years of hardwork and grind by his son has brought cheer to Mehraj-u-din who has been awarded gold medal for being topper in the mechanical branch at the SSM college this session at the recently held Convocation of the university.
Aaqib Mehraj, hailing from old city Chattabal said hard work is the key to success and his being top in all the semesters and never having any backlog in subjects helped him secure the top slot in the bachelors in the mechanical field.
Aaqib added that given the amount of effort his father puts in educating his children, he made sure to work hard to strike gold.
He said that he received a call from his SSM college authorities to apply for receiving the medal as well as merit certificates from President of India Ram Nath Kovind at the Kashmir University Convocation and was among the 84 candidates honoured there.
His elated father said that it was so great to receive an award like this and it is a huge honour for him.
Aaqib said that the feat could not have been possible if I had not received the support from my friends, family and professors, who during tough conditions lent a helping hand to make my studies easy.
